“Ioan Goia” International Music Competition, 9th edition, 15 – 17 May 2020
TERMS AND CONDITION
The “Ioan Goia” International Competition comprises three categories, as follows:
- First category: grades III-VIII
- Second category: grades IX-XII
- Third category: University students
SECTIONS:
- Flute
- Oboe
- Clarinet
- Saxophone
- Bassoon
- French horn
- Trumpet
- Trombone
- Baritone
- Tuba
- Percussion
- Pan flute
- Blockflöte
- Accordion
RULES
I.1 The “Ioan Goia” International Competition is addressed to children and young people studying brass, woodwind and percussion instruments in any form of education institution in Romania and abroad.
I.2 The competition requires the following repertoire:
Wind instruments:
All categories:
- Two works different in style, genre, character and form
Percussion:
First category:
- Two works different in style, genre, character and form
Second and Third category:
- One study
- A work for marimba (with / without piano accompaniment)
- A multipercussion work
Pan flute, Blöckflote, Accordion:
All categories:
- A transcription of a classical music piece
- A suite of folk songs
The works chosen by the candidate will be performed in one single round.
We recommend a maximum duration of the performance of:
15 minutes for the First category
25 minutes for the Second and Third category
I.3 The repertoire will be performed by heart,with the exception of modern or contemporary works, where the presence of the score is allowed. The repertoire communicated in the registration form cannot be changed. Candidates must bring copies of the accompanying scores.

III. CLARIFICATION
III.1 The jury will be made up of personalities of the performance art, professors of pre-university and university artistic education from Romania and abroad. The jury’s decision is final and without right of appeal.
III.2 The entry order of candidates will be established by the organizers and communicated in due time. Candidates must present at least 20 minutes before the scheduled time.
III.3 Public access to the competition will be free.
III.4 The transportation, accommodation and meals will be supported by the participants. Upon request, reservations can be made at the National Art College “Octav Băncilă” Iaşi campus, within the limits of availability at the date of the contest.
III.5 Competitors who need a visa to participate in the contest are asked to take this into consideration and if they need an invitation letter they are asked to comunicate that to the contact persons.
III.6 The organizers of the contest reserve the right to take audio or video recordings, photographic images, including radio or TV transmissions without having to pay remuneration in this regard.
III.7 The registration in the contest of the candidates represents the acceptance of these regulations.
III.8 Entry in the contest represents the competitor’s acceptance regarding the processing of personal data only for the purpose of registering for the contest and to settle the amounts of prizes obtained.
